After trying two Juvia’s Place Palettes and loving them, trying out new palettes from Juvia’s Place is one of the most exciting things for me to do as far as makeup is concerned. The Magic by Juvia’s palette is one of the newer launches from the brand and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

PACKAGING

The packaging is very similar to the Saharan and the Nubian 2 by the Juvia’s Place and I don’t want to go too much into the packaging. This palette also has cardboard packaging which feels very sturdy. Although, this palette is quite large in size as compared to the previous palettes and the pan size is also quite big.

The Magic Palette was inspired by the moon and sun goddesses. A beautiful fusion of cool and warm tones. Perfect for day to night time looks.

I love the theme and colour scheme of this palette too!

INGREDIENTS

QUANTITY

There are 16 eyeshadows in this palette and the whole palette weighs 57.6g / 2.03 oz as specified on the packaging. Each pan would be around 3.5-3.6 gm of product, which is quite a lot of shadow. I don’t think I will ever hit pan on this palette!

PRICE

This palette retails for USD 35 (roughly SGD 48), but I paid around SGD 65 here is Singapore and bought from a genuine seller on Shopee. I am sure I paid around 8-10 SGD more for this palette but honestly I don’t regret it. The palette is just too unique!

FINISH

There are 6 matte shades in the palette and 10 foiled metallic/shimmer shades. The colours available in this palette are really unique. They might look on the more bolder side but they are quite wearable on various occasions.

PIGMENTATION

I would sound like a broken record if I go on about the pigmentation of Juvia’s Place palettes. They are just amazing, specially the metallic shimmer shades.

Shimmers : All the shimmer / metallic shades have an amazing pigmentation. They are very smooth and very easy to apply and you get full colour payoff in one swipe.

Mattes : Out of the 6, 4 of the matte shades are very good – pretty smooth, soft, nicely pigmented and blend very easily. There are two matte shades “Ife” and “Yejide” which I feel could have been better. They feel a fit chalky and not as smooth as the others and I find that they don’t give full colour payoff and don’t look as intense on the eyes as in the pan. The rest of the mattes have a better consistency but I would say that the quality of shimmers is definitely better than the mattes.

LONGETIVITY

Whenever I have done a look with any of the Juvia’s Place palettes, I have got a longwearing eye look even without a primer. The shadows can last on my eyelids easily for 5-6 hours without much fading. This is not true however for some of the matte shades and they are

SWATCHES

Let’s look at the swatches on my skin tone. This palette certainly has some unique shades.

Overall, I love The Magic palette by Juvia’s Place as the colours in this palette and the whole theme of the palette is quite unique. I would highly recommend this palette if you love shimmers and you would like to add some very beautiful shimmer shades to your collection. I just wish that these palettes were more easily available at better prices in this part of the world.

I have done a comparison video of all the Juvia’s Place palettes that I own. Hope this video helps you to pick up your perfect palette.

I will post some looks using this palette soon, so watch out this space. That’s all for today. I hope this post helped.

Cheers!
